Our Statement of Faith

The Word of God: We believe the Bible is inspired and is the authoritative word of God. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith, practice, and conduct.

The Trinity: We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; and that they are all equal in every divine perfection.

God The Father: We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, Who is perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

God The Son: We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe He is true God and true man. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, teachings, substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, His perpetual intercession for His people, and His visible return to earth.

God The Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer in Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide.

Man: We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and become guilty sinners in thought, word, and deed.

Salvation: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. We believe that all who come by grace through faith to accept the Lord Jesus Christ thereby become children of God.

Regeneration: We believe that all those who have repented of their sins and have trusted in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

The Church: We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of believers of which Christ is the head. We believe that the local church gathers together for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that its primary task is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

Christian Conduct: We believe that Christians live for the glory of God and the well-being of their fellow man and that we are to be faithful stewards of all that God has given us.

Baptism: We believe that God’s Word instructs a believer in Christ to be baptized. Though baptism has no saving merit, it does symbolize the believer’s faith in, and identification with, Christ. The baptism or dedication of an infant or young child shall be the choice of the family.

Communion: We believe that the Lord’s Supper (communion) was instituted by Christ for the commemoration of His death. It symbolizes the death of Christ for the remission of our sins and our continual dependence upon Him for our sustenance. The Lord’s table is to be open to all believers who are in a right relationship with God, regardless of their denomination.

Religious Liberty: We believe that every human being can have a direct relationship with God, and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith; that this church is independent and is free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority; that Church and State must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage.

End Times: We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal bliss of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.
